skinny bridge
The Magere Brug - 'Skinny Bridge' - is a narrow bridge over the river Amstel in Amsterdam city centre. The first bridge at this site was built in 1691, to be replaced by a nine-arched wooden bridge in 1871. The present day bridge was built in 1934 and is a bascule bridge made of white-painted wood. The bridge is especially beautiful at night when the 1200-bulb illumination is turned on. The bridge features in a number of films, such as the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever from 1971.
